Air India aircraft’s tire bursts before take off

KATHMANDU, Dec 9: An Air India aircraft bound for New Delhi from Kathmandu was forced to abort its flight after one of its tires got flattened while making an attempt for a take off on Friday.

KATHMANDU, Dec 9: An Air India aircraft bound for New Delhi from Kathmandu was forced to abort its flight after one of its tires got flattened while making an attempt for a take off on Friday. 


Sources at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) confirmed that a tire of the Air India aircraft with flight number AI 216 got flattened before taking off at the TIA.

The plane was scheduled to fly from Kathmandu to New Delhi at 3:40 PM.


According to the TIA, the plane reached the threshold area from the taxiway and was preparing to take off when the tire pressure was reduced. 


With the flattened tire, the aircraft was pulled out of the runway with the help of a machine and placed in the parking bay.
