Agriculture scientist donates Rs 50,000 to NIC

KHOTANG, Jan 3: Renowned agriculture scientist Madan Rai has donated Rs 50,000 to the National Innovation Centre (NIC) set up by Magsaysay award winner Mahabir Pun. Rai handed over a check to Pun on Thursday.

KHOTANG, Jan 3: Renowned agriculture scientist Madan Rai has donated Rs 50,000 to the National Innovation Centre (NIC) set up by Magsaysay award winner Mahabir Pun. Rai handed over a check to Pun on Thursday. 


On the occasion, Rai said he had made the contribution to support Pun’s remarkable initiative. Rai said, “Modern man cannot prosper until and unless innovations happen through researches. And when the government does not work toward this end, the citizens themselves should support research and innovation.”

Pun established the NIC in 2012 with a vision to provide necessary assistance to youths with new ideas.  


Similarly, chairman Bindra Raj Rai of ‘Joint Voice for Change’ society, donated Rs 245,000, collected from 31 various donors,  to the center.
