Mobile and internet penetration boosting e-agriculture
Inaugurating the market, Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Padma Kumari Aryal said there is a need for boosting commercial farming through land consolidation and providing direct market access to farmers.
There are 115 stalls in the agriculture market. Bijay KC, proprietor of the company, said around 60 percent of the total space is now operated by the local farmers from Palung, Dhading, Nuwakot and Lalitpur districts. KC claimed that the farm products they sell are up to 10 percent cheaper compared to the average market price, as there is no scope for the margin to the middlemen in their selling procedure.
