MAHOTTARI, Sept 30: Cadres of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) have forced the closure of the Everest Sugar Mill at Ramnagar in Mahottari for an indefinite period.

The agitators, demonstrating in various districts in the southern plains, including Mahottari, in protest of state delineation for 47 days shut down one of the most modern sugar mills in the country today morning.

According to Naresh Kumar Kushwaha, one of the cadres of UDMF, they brought the Mill to a grinding halt where its administrative works and repair were being undertaken despite the general shutdown enforced by them in the districts.

The Mill, which used to operate seasonally, had halted production for over three months.

The agitators have burnt tyres at all the three gates of the Mill and hoisted a black flag atop the main gate of this 21-year-old Mill, it is shared. RSS
