The three of them inaugurated the new auditorium cum gallery which exhibited photographs by photographers of photo.circle – Shiristi Rajbhandari, Shrijit Rajbhandari, Arjun Karki, Prasiit Sthapit, Gyanendra Bhattarai, Sajana Shrestha, Pujan Harsha Bajracharya, Kishor K Sharma, and Rajan Shrestha.
Another pPhoto series by Nayantara Gurung Kakshapati, titled ‘Being Nepali in the New Federal Democratic of Nepal’ which includes portraits concentrating on unique facial features without stereotyped ethnic identifiers (clothing and jewelry) were also displayed alongside Prasiit Sthapit’s ‘The New Silk Road,’ photographs taken in the Nepal-China border and the construction site of the new highway.

These photographs were a part of photo exhibition entitled ‘Month of Nepal’ organized by AFK in Paris in October 2012.
French musician Abaji also performed together with guest band Kutumba during the opening ceremony.
“I was a student of AFK in the 90s and I had never thought I would one day be serving this institution as a board member or its president. We would like to thank Mr Rajendra Khetan and his company for providing the new premises,” said Pratima Pande during the inauguration program.
