Advani phones PM about priest controversy

KATHMANDU, Jan 6: Former Indian Home Minister and opposition leader of Indian parliament Lal Krishna Advani has expressed concerned over the controversies surrounding the appointment of new priests at the Pashupati Temple.



According to Kantipur daily, Advani, a senior leader of Bharatiya Janta Party, telephoned Prime Minister Puspa Kamal Dhahal on

Tuesday and urged him to find an amicable solution of the problem. The PM assured Advani that government will soon sort out the problem. After Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) appointed new Nepali priest replacing traditional Mul Bhatta (who hails from South India), Pashupatinath Temple has been drawn into controversy since the past one week.
