Acid attack victim Khatun receives Bollywood celebrities’ attention

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan's video on social media is receiving much attention as he sent a message for 14-year old Muskan Khatun of Birgunj, who is undergoing treatment after an acid attack, at Kirtipur Hospital.

Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan's video on social media is receiving much attention as he sent a message for 14-year old Muskan Khatun of Birgunj, who is undergoing treatment after an acid attack, at Kirtipur Hospital.


Khatun who just came out from her facial surgery got emotional after receiving Dhawan's video message and in her meek voice, she thanked the actor.


She was admitted to Kirtipur Hospital for treatment after local youths attacked acid in the face while going to school in the morning on September 6. She is studying at Tribhuvan Higher Secondary School in Birgunj.

"Hello Muskan! Glad to hear that you are getting good treatment. Hope you are doing fine. Study with your heart. We will meet after you heal," said actor Dhawan in a video posted on social media. Khatun is a fan of ‘Main Tera Hero’ actor.


Another Bollywood actor, Kriti Sanon too did a video chat with her. Not only Bollywood stars but recently, popular Nepali personalities such as singer Raju Lama and first runner up of Miss Nepal 2017 Niti Shah also visited her in the hospital. Social worker Ujwal Bikram Thapa has played an instrumental role in these meetings and interactions.


Police have arrested Sasad Alam and Majid Alam for attacking Khatun with acid. The attackers attacked her in a way to the school. She got serious injuries in her mouth, hands, chest and arms.
