KATHMANDU, Jan 29: Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has revised the fixture for the ACC U-17 Elite Cup cricket tournament after Saudi Arabia pulled out of the event on Thursday, CAN said in a release. [break]
Saudi Arabia has reported pulled out after being unable to find home-born players. Asian Cricket Council (ACC) rules that at least two among 14 players should be born in the nation.
After Saudi’s pullout, the event now has only eight teams – four in each group. The total duration of the tournament has also cut short by a day.
Saudi was in Group A along with Nepal, Singapore, Qatar and Hong Kong. Group B consisted of Bahrain, Kuwait, UAE and Malaysia.
According to revised fixture, Nepal will now meet Qatar on February 4, Hong Kong on February 7 and Singapore on February 8. The semifinals will be played on February 10 while the final is on February 12.
