During the meeting with Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Thursday, NC leaders told the Maoists that the NC would not have any objection to Dahal leading the new government after accomplishing the tasks of integration and rehabilitation of the combatants.
Earlier, Dahal had said that they would accomplish the task within a month should the prime minister step down.
NC leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula said the NC asked Dahal to complete the process of combatants´ management within a month since the prime minister has already stepped down. Sitaula said there was, however, no response from Dahal about the NC proposal.
Meanwhile, NC Acting President Sushil Koirala returned from the US on Friday. Koirala is scheduled to call NC central committee meeting soon to make its official position on the formation of new government.
