Being an aviation enthusiast, I had never met pilot until the date. I got a chance to meet Captain Vijay Lama, during a relief program in my locality on 4th June. He is a not only a pilot but also a singer, actor, music composer and these days he is a well-known social worker.
I had gone to see him at our ward office, where he was giving a brief overview to a camera person about his charity work. Captain Vijay Lama had come up with relief materials in Phutung to provide to the pregnant and lactating mother in my community. When he was talking on the camera, he mentioned that if one person can feed a minimum of 50 people and another one can repeat the same that may end the hunger during Covid-19 pandemic.
His talk was inspiring and people were keenly listening to him. He explained that the main motive of distributing the relief items was to support providing nutritious food to pregnant women which will help further development of a child. In the ward office, there were health workers from the health post, local leaders and recipients of the relief. Before the distribution, he inquired about the local situation.
He had an unusual type of camera that I guess he uses for making his vlog for his YouTube channel. After a quick introduction with the people around him, he started to collect the footage. In the meantime, the Mayor of Tarkeshwor Municipality Rameshower Bohora arrived.
The relief distribution was held. Around 50 women were waiting to receive the relief. They expressed their happiness and thanked him for relief package “warm pack”. Then, Captain Lama and Mayor Bohora had an interesting conversation around our development. He told that long time back he had come to this area for a movie shooting.
During the talk, I also came to know he is also a founder of Nanyopan and working together with Food for Life Nepal for relief programs.
His organization helps different people during a time of emergencies. Food for Life is the organization which supports the school students by delivering nutritious and healthy food.
At the end, we took some photos with him. I was very excited to talk to him.
