911 people find employment through KMC’s Labor Bank

KATHMANDU, July 16: The Labor Bank of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has successfully provided employment to 911 people.

KATHMANDU, July 16: The Labor Bank of Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has successfully provided employment to 911 people. Out of these, 329 people have secured jobs in various private companies, and 583 have been employed in different departments of the metropolis.


KMC has launched a 3-year action plan to boost employment, with goals to train at least 15,000 people and create 5,000 direct jobs. The ‘Golden Scheme: Employment and Income Growth in Kathmandu’ and ‘Golden Scheme: Labor Bank’ initiatives are key to achieving these goals.

In the fiscal year 2080/81 BS, 2,555 people were trained through Skill Fair-2081, while 1,467 received training at KMC's centers, and 2,000 were trained online. Additionally, 455 skilled, 38 semi-skilled, and 418 unskilled people found employment through the Labor Bank. About 800 more young people found jobs or started their own businesses thanks to the KMC’s efforts.


For the fiscal year 2081/82, KMC plans to refine both initiatives, prepare budgets and programs to exceed their targets, and ensure that all those who filled out forms at the Skills Fair receive training as scheduled.
