Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,635 new cases


KATHMANDU, May 18: Nepal recorded as many as 8,203 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday along with 6,891 recoveries and 196 deaths from the viral disease.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), 20,979 people underwent COVID-19 tests on Monday. Of them, 8,203 tested positive for COVID-19.


With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 case tally stands at 372,354 including 352,414 recoveries and 5,411 deaths.


There are currently 107,082 COVID-19 patients in home isolation, 7,447 in institutional isolations, 1,590 in ICUs and 390 on ventilators as of Tuesday afternoon, according to the MoHP.


Likewise, the Kathmandu Valley recorded as many as 2,635 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday. Of them, 2,049 were detected in Kathmandu, 221 in Bhaktapur and 365 in Lalitpur districts.


Similarly, Morang district recorded 507 new cases, Kavrepalanchowk 315, Chitwan 308, and Rupandehi 380 cases on Tuesday.
