"We hope that the political parties will submit the details of their annual budget within the next four days," Acting Chief Election Commissioner Neelkantha Uprety told a press conference Tuesday.
Existing law requires political parties to submit their financial reports to the commission every year within six months of a fiscal year.
Similarly, 1,300 candidates of the Constituent Assembly (CA) election have not submitted details of their expenditure in the 2008 election.
As per the law, candidates must submit details of expenditure to EC within 35 days after announcement of the election result.

Asked why EC has not take action against those candidates yet, Uprety said, "The CA was unlike normal and periodic elections. But it does not mean that we will take no action." He said EC is preparing to make the names of such candidates public in a month.
