60 die of cold in east this year

BIRATNAGAR, Jan 31: As many as 60 persons were dead due to excessive cold in the Eastern Development Region, in this winter season, according to the East Regional Police Office.



Of them, 34 are men, 24 are women, and two children. As per the report from the Office, 37 persons died in Saptari, 13 people died in Siraha, seven died in Jhapa, two in Udayapur and one in Panchthar districts.



It is reported that there was excessive cold in Terai this year, compared to last five years.
