60% capital expenditure of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ministry

KATHMANDU, June 1: The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport spent nearly 60 per cent of its total expenditure budget till May. 


However, the Ministry has claimed that it would meet the target of the capital expenditure till the end of the fiscal year.

The recent data was taken based on the bill clearance of the completed projects. 

During a programme organized at the Ministry today, Minister Ramesh Lekhak said that beginning of the year long pending postal highway was a vital achievement during the 10-month period of this government. He said that construction of the postal highway was a lifeline for the progress of Tarai-Madhes. 


On the occasion, Minister Lekhak said that handing over the responsibility to construct the Kathmandu-Tarai Fast Track to Nepal Army was another significant achievement during his tenure. 


Agreement between Nepal and Japan for tunnel construction along the Thankot-Nagdhunga stretch, acceleration of east-west railway, upgradation of Mahendra Highway and others were important tasks carried out by the Ministry got during his tenure. RSS (
