TAMIL NADU, Jan 4: The blast is suspected to have occurred during the mixing of chemicals, flattening the factory and killing six.


Six workers were killed and a few others injured in an explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Tamil Nadu's Virudhunagar on Saturday.

The blast is suspected to have occurred during the process of mixing chemicals. The explosion flattened at least four rooms and caused the fatalities, officials said.


Police, firefighters, and rescuers rushed to the spot, and the injured were taken to hospitals.


Officials said that they are investigating the cause of the explosion and the extent of the damage.
