Two persons, including a road division officer, died when a bus (NA 3 Kha 1195) hit a motorcycle at Bani of Krishnapur VDC in Kanchanpur on Friday. [break]
Police have identified the deceased motorcyclist as Bahadur Panta, 42, of Krishnapur VDC 2. Panta, who was an employee at Mahendranagar Road Division Office died on the spot. The other person to die in the accident was a bus passenger, who remains unidentified. Of the 15 injured in the accident, three are in critical condition, said the Kanchanpur District Police Office. They injured are undergoing treatment at Bareli of India and Padma Hospital and Sewa hospital of Kailali.
The bus driver is at large following the incident, said the police.
Meanwhile, another three persons were killed and 24 injured when a passenger bus met with an accident at Ketuke of Okhaldhunga. The bus was heading for Katari VDC of Udayapur from Solukhambu.
Police have identified the deceased as Ram Kumar KC, 50, of Gaighat, Chief of Solukhambu District Development Office (DAO) Min Bahadur Budathoki, 52, of Rupandehi, Keshav Bahadur Khadka, 32, and Ramita Khadka, 22, of Dhapu-1.
All the injured have been taken to Okhaldhunga, Katari and Biratnagar for treatment, said the police.
