421 Kg of marijuana found in car that crashed after fleeing APF checkpoint

While attempting to flee, the car lost control and crashed into a wall. The driver managed to escape, but the car was seized by the police.

KATHMANDU, April 30: The Armed Police Force (APF) has taken control of a car along with 421 kilograms of marijuana in Dhankuta.



On Wednesday morning, a car (Ko 2 Pa 1734), traveling from Dhankuta to Dharan on the Koshi Highway near Namaste Jharna in Sangurigadhi-6, Dhankuta, was stopped for a check at the APF's Disaster Management Base Mulghat checkpoint. However, the car attempted to flee after being suspected.

While attempting to flee, the car lost control and crashed into a wall. The driver managed to escape, but the car was seized by the police.


Upon inspection, 421 kilograms of marijuana packed in 12 bags was found inside the car, according to APF Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shailendra Thapa.


DSP Thapa added that the car and the seized marijuana are being handed over to the relevant authorities for further action.
