40 joint secys including 30 CDOs transferred

KATHMANDU, June 4: In a major bureaucratic reshuffle after Maoist minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara assumed the portfolio of Home Ministry, cabinet meeting on Saturday took a decision to transfer 40 joint secretaries, including 30 Chief District Officers (CDOs), serving under Home Ministry.



The cabinet meeting transferred Mohan Krishna Sapkota, who was serving as Director General of Department of Labor, to Personnel Administration Division in the Home Ministry. The division was lying vacant after incumbent Joint Secretary Prem Rai chose to go reserve pool under Ministry of General Administration without even notifying Home Minister Mahara and Secretary Leela Mani Paudel. Likewise, the newly-promoted Joint Secretary Basanta Bhattarai has been transferred to Immigration Office at Tribhuvan International Airport. The post was vacant after the incumbent immigration chief at TIA Khada Nanda Dhakal was suspended over his alleged involvement in red passport scam.



Sources at Home Ministry said Janmajaya Regmi has been transferred to Department of Immigration while the incumbent Immigration Department Chief Narayan Sanjel has been called back to the ministry. Senior officials transferred include Dhurva Prasad Dhakal to Mid-western Regional Administration Office, Surkhet, Khadga Bahadur Chapagain to Eastern Regional Administration Office, Dhankuta, Shiva Hari Uapdhayay to Western Regional Administration Office, Pokhara and Prem Bahadur Khapung to Far-Western Regional Administration Center, Dipayal.



The ministry has transferred Dhanusha CDO Kamalesh Kumar Sinha to Kapilvastu, Birendra Kumar Yadav of Eastern Regional Administration Office to the post of Dhanusha CDO, Kapilvastu CDO Laxman Kumar Thapa to Rupandehi and Rupandehi CDO Tara Nath Gautam to Parsa district. Incumbent Parsa CDO Nagendra Jha, who is a survey technician, has been transferred back to the Ministry of Land Reform.



Likewise, the ministry has transferred Sunsari CDO Ram Prasad Thapaliya to Sarlahi, Kailai CDO Narayan Prasad Bidari to Siraha, Banke CDO Basu Dev Dahal to Kanchanpur and Kanchanpur CDO Buddhi Bahadur Khadka to Rautahat. The newly-promoted joint secretaries Gokarna Mani Dawadi, Kailash Kumar Bajimiya, Krishna Chandra Ghimire, Chuda Mani Sharma, Shankar Aryal, Rudra Nath Basyal and Birendra Bahadur Rai have been transferred respectively as CDOs of Saptari, Kailali, Banke, Sunsari, Mahottari, Kavre and Dhankuta districts.



Additionally, the ministry transferred Shashi Shekhar Shrestha as CDO of Nawalparasi, Gahanath Bhandari to Jhapa, Basu Dev Dhakal to Kanchanpur, Prem Bahadur Khapung to Doti, Hari Raj Pant to Surkhet and Naba Raj Shrestha to Police Personnel Record Management Office.



Various officials serving as CDOs including Bhawani Parajuli, Kailash Nath Kharel, Birendra Baniya, Shambu Prasad Ghimire, Tej Prasad Paudel, Ram Prasad Ghimire and Kali Prasad Parajuli have been transferred back to the ministry.
