4 among 7 impeachment motions charged against Karki substantiated

KATHMANDU, Feb 8: The Impeachment Recommendation Sub Committee of the Legislature-Parliament has substantiated four of the seven impeachment motions levelved against former Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Lokman Singh Karki.

KATHMANDU, Feb 8: The Impeachment Recommendation Sub Committee of the Legislature-Parliament has substantiated four of the seven impeachment motions levelved against former Chief Commissioner of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) Lokman Singh Karki.


According to the report prepared by the Impeachment Recommendation Sub Committee, of the seven impeachment proposals charged against Karki, the four have been substantiated.


"Four among the seven impeachment motions charged against Karki have been corroborated," Ram Narayan Bidari, coordinator of the Impeachment Recommendation Sub Committee told Republica Online.


The Sub Committee comprising coordinator Bidari of CPN (Maoist Center) and members Dipak Kuinkel of Nepali Congress, Rewati Raman Bhandari of CPN-UML had prepared the report.

The Sub Committee has presented its report to the Impeachment Recommendation Committee of the Legislature Parliament on Wednesday.


On October 19, as many as 157 lawmakers had registered the impeachment motion against Karki. 


On January 8, the Supreme Court (SC) had heard the case against Karki relieving him of his post as CIAA Chief.
