KATHMANDU, Dec 26: Employees of Kantipur Publications blocked the printing of eastern editions of Kantipur and The Kathmandu Post dailies from Biratnagar on Friday as well, said a union leader.
This is the second consecutive day that CPN (Maoist)-affiliated All Nepal Communications, Printing and Publication Workers´ Union (ANCPPWU) prevented the printing of the eastern editions.

"Yes, we did not allow it today as well," Ghanashyam Adhikari, chief of the eastern region sub-committee of ANCPPWU told myrepublica.com over phone from the eastern town. They have camped inside the publications´ office in the eastern town. The office houses both the newsroom and the press machine.
The union members have vowed to continue their seizure of the office complex and blocking the printing of the newspapers until their 12-point demands are fulfilled. The demands include, among others, better pay and benefits. Around 30 union members have camped inside the office complex.
The newspapers´ pages are sent over the iInternet from the capital and printed in Biratnagar.
Adhikari yet again refuted the Kantipur Publications´ management´s claim that the latter have already implemented government-stipulated wages and benefits for all employees.
The employees´ current round of protest started Monday.
