Speaking at a programme organised by Federation of Community Forest Users of Nepal (FECOFUN) in the Capital Thursday, he said the tradition of declaring people killed in petty cases as martyrs is wrong.

He said the report prepared by the task force formed under the coordination of litterateur Modanath Prashrit has set a clear definition of martyrs and also spelled out the parametres to declare martyr. The task force was formed when Nepal was heading the government and it had submitted the report to the government.

He stressed on having an inclusive policy in the economic sector by the government as in politics.

On a different note, he appreciated the community concept for the conservation of forests and urged the federation to be serious to control anomalies seen in the community forestry sector.
