36 Nepali workers injured after bus overturns in Malaysia

KATHMANDU, June 25: Thirty six Nepali workers sustained minor injuries after a factory bus carrying around 38 workers overturned after crashing into a road divider at Tingkat Paya Terubong, Ayer Itam in Malaysia early morning today, according to a local newspaper.

KATHMANDU, June 25: Thirty six Nepali workers sustained minor injuries after a factory bus carrying around 38 workers overturned after crashing into a road divider at Tingkat Paya Terubong, Ayer Itam in Malaysia early morning today, according to a local newspaper.


The factory bus of Plexus, a company that manufactures electrical materials, was heading to Sea Side when it overturned.

Passers-by who witnessed the crash rushed to the site to rescue the victims.


The injured were sent to the Penang Hospital for treatment.


The Fire and Rescue Department said it received a distress call at about 6am and that a team arrived at the scene minutes later.


More than 1,000 Nepali workers work in the company.
