35 child workers rescued from dance bars in Thamel

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: The police have rescued 35 child workers from various restaurants and dance bars in Thamel area in Kathmandu. The rescue was made as part of a weeklong children's special rescue programme by a team from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Lainchaur.

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: The police have rescued 35 child workers from various restaurants and dance bars in Thamel area in Kathmandu. The rescue was made as part of a weeklong children's special rescue programme by a team from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Lainchaur.

"The rescued children will be handed to their parents after providing them counseling," said Deputy Superintendent of Police Gautam Kumar KC. The team also arrested three owners of Unique Dance Bar and Bebo Dance Bar for using child labourers. The arrestees will face action under the Children Act, 2075, he said.
