Talks to end the tension are under way at the hospital.

Relatives of Akriti Gurung resorted to violence after Gurung, who was allegedly bitten by a rabid dog, died at the hospital Friday evening. Gurung was admitted to hospital Friday morning and died after she was administered anti-rabies injection. The relatives allege negligence by doctors and are demanding action.

The hospital administration has formed a 14-member committee under the coordination of Dr Kaalu Sharma to probe the matter.
