Kishan Jha, 19; Dipak Jha 18; and Ritesh Jha, 17; who had gone to the riverside for picnic to celebrate New Year 2070 had jumped into the river to take a bath. They died after they were unable to swim in the deep river. [break]
Although they were rescued from the river immediately they could not be saved. Ritesh died on the way to the hospital while the two died in the course of treatment at the district hospital, Gaur.
Nevertheless, the relatives of the deceased youths vandalized the hospital accusing the doctors of negligence in the treatment. The relatives also staged a protest demonstration chanting slogans against the police, administration and the hospital. Ritesh´s father Subodh blamed the "ill-equipped hospital" for the death. But , Sachidananda Dev, the head of the district hospital, rejected the allegation and said the youths were brought to the hospital late.
