KATHMANDU: Three pro-monarchy parties announced on Monday that they have merged to make one political party -- Deshbhakta Rastrabadi Party (Patriotic Nationalist Party). Manamohan Shumsher Rana is the head of the new party.

Speaking at a press conference in Kathmandu, Rana said the three parties – Rastriya Jana Ekata Party, Rastrabadi Milan Kendra and Shakti Dal – have become one to fight for nationalism. Warning that the country will disintegrate if it goes to federalism, Rana called on everyone to join his party for national integrity.

Rana also said the main principle of the party is reactivation of the monarchy-included democracy.
