DHANGADHI, Nov 13: At least three people were killed and 33 others were injured when a passenger bus met with an accident in Kailali in early morning on Sunday.
The ill-fated bus (Na Kha 2723) was heading toward Mahendranagar from Melauli of Baitadi when the accident occurred. Reportedly, the bus skidded off the road and took a plunge at Chure Rural Municipality-3, Dhapeni at around 5 am.

It has been learnt that all the deceased were from Baitadi district. The deceased have been identified as Bhunti Devi Chand, 64, of Shivanath Rural Municipality 6; Kabita Tiwari, 24, of Pancheshwar-4; and Rewati Bhatta, 18, of Patan Municipality-5.
Two of the critically injured have been taken to India for further treatment, informed Bir Bahadur Budhamagar, DSP at the District Police Office, Kailali. Some of the injured have been admitted to Padma Hospital in Dhangadhi for treatment while others with minor injuries have returned home after treatment.
Tek Bahadur Jora, spokesman and inspector at the Regional Traffic Police Office informed that their preliminary investigation showed that the accident occurred as the driver fell asleep at the wheel.
