Police inspector Dipak Neupane said the bus (Na 2 Kha 4002) overturned while trying to get past a sugarcane-laden cart in the Hariban forest Sunday night. There were 41 people on board when the mishap happened.
All injured are undergoing treatment at the local Hariban Hospital and Namuna Hospital. Among them, Mandip Moktan, Rajan Rai, Kalpana Rai, Rabin Bhujel, Laxmi Shrestha, Laxmi Ghimire of Toxila, Udaypur and Gopal Khatri and Jaisara Rai of Khotang are said to be seriously injured.
Likewise, in another incident, tractor driver Mahesh Raya of Netragunj-6, was killed on the spot in Laxmipur, Sarlahi, when the tractor met with an accident police said. Two others, Debendra Raya and Ramnarayan Raya, were injured, the district police said.
In Dhading, a man was killed in a motorcycle accident at Malinga, Benighat-8, Monday morning. Krishna Sedhai, 36, died on the spot after his motorcycle (Ba 24 Pa 7305) crashed into a roadside stationary truck, the traffic police, Gajuri , said.
Mahendra Sedhai, who was riding pillion, sustained minor injuries in the mishap. Police have detained the truck driver for questioning.
In Baglung, one Amar Bahadur KC was killed when the jeep he was driving met with an accident near Ratmata, Sunday night, police said.
According to police, KC was driving home in Mulpani of Baglung Municipality-6, under influence. It was only Monday morning that the mishap came to light as the jeep driver was alone in the vehicle at the time of accident.
