3 including hotelier held for alleged involvement in flesh trade

UDAYAPUR, Dec 18: Police have arrested three people including a hotelier for their alleged involvement in flesh trade at the district headquarters Gaighat on Monday.

UDAYAPUR, Dec 18: Police have arrested three people including a hotelier for their alleged involvement in flesh trade at the district headquarters Gaighat on Monday.


Acting on a tip-off, plainclothes police caught hotelier Sanu Shrestha along with two girls red-handed from a Gaighat-based hotel, SP Nawaraj Bhatta, chief of Udayapur District Police Office, told Republica Online.

"Hotelier Shrestha has been running flesh trade," SP Bhatta quoted the arrested girls as saying.


According to a preliminary statement provided by the alleged sex workers, Shrestha charges a customer Rs 500 for a one-time service.


Police have launched a crackdown based on the report that flesh trade is thriving in the area of late, said Bhatta.
