SILIGURI, July 20: A Chinese national was arrested from the Indo-Nepal border here after she was found strolling suspiciously in the area, police said Tuesday.

The 48-year-old woman, Zhiping Lei, a resident of Sichuan in China, was nabbed near the Pani Tanki area in the Siliguri sub-division of Darjeeling district Monday night, a police official said here.

"She could produce her passport but she did not have any visa with her," the police official said. However, nothing objectionable has been recovered from her yet.

Police and other national security agencies are probing the matter.
