2 foreigners held with camera-equipped drone

KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Police have arrested two foreigners on the charge of flying a drone equipped with cameras on Monday.

KATHMANDU, Aug 4: Police have arrested two foreigners on the charge of flying a drone equipped with cameras on Monday.


The arrested are Russian national Chupin Alexander and Kazakh national Nusupoov Alexander with a drone.

A team of Metropolitan Police Sector, Sanepa took them under control while they were flying the drone at Dhobighat in Lalitpur. 


According to SSP Pitambar Adhikari of Metropolitan Police Range, Lalitpur, the arrested foreigners were handed over to Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal after arrest for necessary action. 


Duo Alexander had come to Nepal via Tribhuvan International Airport all the way from Hong Kong, Inspector Ram Krishna Sapkota told Republica Online.   


An official permission is a must for flying drones in Nepal.
