DHARAN, Dec 10: The 19th edition of the International Invitational Budhasubba Gold Cup Football Tournament will be held in Dharan from February 16 to 25 next year. A meeting of the organizer Dharan Football Club held on Wednesday finalized the date.
The venue of the tournament will be shifted to Dharan Stadium from ANFA Technical Center of Dharan, which hosted the last five editions of the annual tournament, according to Pratap Tamang, the general secretary of the club.

“There is still more than two and half month left before the tournament kicks off. The Dharan Stadium will be ready by then to host the event,” said Tamang.
The maintenance and repairing works of the Dharan Stadium is underway as part of preparation for the Seventh National Games to be held in Eastern Region from December 23 to 30.
The tournament will feature 10 teams, two more than in the past edition. The host Dharan Football Club has decided to field two teams. It has also planned to bring two premier division clubs of South Asia region besides top-tier teams from Nepal. “We have decided to bring premier division teams from abroad with a view to make the tournament more qualitative. The club’s president has been to ANFA headquarters (Kathmandu) to initiate the process for inviting them,” Tamang added.
The meeting has also decided to reward the winner and the runner-up with purse of Rs 500,000 and half of the amount respectively. Similarly, the best player of the tournament will be awarded with a motorbike while best players in four different positions and coach will be given Rs 11,000 each.
