187 TU staff on study leave fail to return

A probe committee has revealed that 187 teachers and staff of Tribhuvan University (TU) went on study leave and have not returned to duty.

KATHMANDU, June 13: A probe committee has revealed that 187 teachers and staff of Tribhuvan University (TU) went on study leave and have not returned to duty.



Additionally, 213 individuals have failed to submit their academic certificates after completing their studies.

The findings were submitted to TU officials on Friday by a three-member investigation committee led by Dr Jiwan Kafle. The committee also includes Krishna Hari Acharya as a member and Deepak Tiwari as member-secretary.


Receiving the report, TU Vice-Chancellor Khadka KC stated that all financial facilities taken by the absentees would be recovered with interest. TU officials have tasked the same committee to immediately verify the report's details and conduct further investigation.
