17 people injured as a tourist bus on its way from Jomsom to Pokhara falls into Kaligandaki River

KATHMANDU, Feb 15: Seventeen people, including two Indian nationals, were injured when a bus that left for Pokhara from Jomsom fell into Kaligandaki River in Thasang Rural Municipality-3.


The four wheeler fell off the road in Kaligandaki at a place called Dhampu in Thasang Rural Municipality of Mustang.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Rabindranath Paudel said that when the bus (Na 7 Kha 7440) fell into the river and all the passengers of the bus were injured while the condition of two persons is critical. The bus fell about 45 meters off the road.


According to Paudel, the bus fell directly into the water and as the police office was nearby, there was no human casualty due to quick rescue. Similarly, He said that 14 people, including two seriously injured people, have been sent to Pokhara by ambulance for further treatment, while the remaining three people with minor injuries are being treated at Leyte Primary Health Center located in Thasang-3.
