150 bird species found in Shivapuri forest

KATHMANDU, July 2: Counting of various bird species in Shivapuri forest was concluded on Saturday.



The bird specialists and students of environmental science helped the counting.[break]



Around 150 species of birds including orange delight, leap bird, blue prophet, fly fetcher, fire breasted and flower picker were found living in the Shivapuri forest area, informed bird specialist Shankar Tiwari.



Meanwhile, Nepal River Conservation Trust conducted sanitation campaign Gaurighat and Guhesweri temple premises on Saturday.



Chairman of the trust Megh Ale said the campaign was started as civilization of Bagmati River was undermined after the river get polluted everyday.



The campaign started from June 5 and will be continued until August 21.



Kathmandu Metropolis, representatives of various social organizations, local residents, and students participated in the sanitation campaign.
