15 students injured after a bus carrying them falls in irrigation canal in Tikapur

TIKAPUR, Sept 11: At least 15 young students were injured when a bus carrying students of Tripat Vidya Niketan in Tikapur plunged into an irrigation canal. The bus with license plate number Na 5 Kha 4564, which was carrying the school students, fell into the Rani canal.

TIKAPUR, Sept 11: At least 15 young students were injured when a bus carrying students of Tripat Vidya Niketan in Tikapur plunged into an irrigation canal. The bus with license plate number Na 5 Kha 4564, which was carrying the school students, fell into the Rani canal in Kunti.


Police Inspector Lokraj Awasthi at the Area Police Office, Tikapur, informed that locals rescued the students from the bus that had fallen into the canal in Janaki Rural Municipality-9. He added that the injured students have been taken to Tikapur Hospital for treatment. It is reported that the bus driver is currently on the run.

The school owner, Manish Balayar, stated that the bus skidded and ended up in the irrigation canal due to the slippery road surface along the bank of the canal. According to him, the bus was transporting students back home after school.
