CAN appoints Rohit Paudel as new captain of national cricket team

KATHMANDU, Nov 12: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has appointed Rohit Kumar Paudel as the new captain of the national team. The post of captain of the national team fell vacant after Sandeep Lamichhane was suspended after he faced allegation of raping a minor.

The CAN gave Rohit the responsibility of captain of Nepal’s national cricket team on Friday evening. Nepal is playing a One Day International (ODI) series against UAE at home from November 14. 

Rohit will nce Sandeep Lamichhane. Rohit has captained Nepal in the 50-over match in the Kenya tour. Earlier, Rohit was the vice-captain when Sandeep was serving as the captain. Rohit also captained Nepal's U-19 age group in the past.

CAN has already announced the Nepali team on Friday, in which Harishankar Shah has also made a place. Gyanendra Malla, Karan KC, Sompal Kami, Kushal Bhurtel, Arif Sheikh, Lalit Rajvanshi, Dipendra Singh Airee, Asif Sheikh, Bhim Sarki. Kamal Singh Airi, Adil Khan, Arjun Saud and Gulsan Jha are among those included in Nepal’s national cricket team.
