110 Russians evacuated from Nepal

KATHMANDU, April 20: The Russian government on Monday evacuated its 110 citizens from Kathmandu, who were stranded here due to the nationwide lockdown imposed to stem the spread of coronavirus.

KATHMANDU, April 20: The Russian government on Monday evacuated its 110 citizens from Kathmandu, who were stranded here due to the nationwide lockdown imposed to stem the spread of coronavirus.


Royal Flight Boeing 757, the leisure carrier of Russia, departed for Moscow carrying the Russians at around 12:35PM today. The chartered flight of the Russian airlines arrived in Kathmandu this morning.


Earlier, the Russian Embassy in Kathmandu had written to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asking for help in evacuating the Russian tourists in Kathmandu.

Around 4,000 foreigners, mostly Europeans and Americans who were in Nepal for various reasons, including trekking, have been evacuated.
