KATHMANDU, June 6: Joy Foundation Nepal assisted the handover of 100 sets of oxygen concentrators donated by Milarepa Meditation Center, Sankhu, Nepal on behalf of Taiwan LJM Charitable Foundation/Taiwan LJM Buddhist Society, Taiwan to support different government hospitals and local government health service providers.
Raju Shrestha, president of Joy Foundation Nepal, in a statement said that 100 sets of oxygen concentrators were distributed and delivered consecutively starting Saturday to different government hospitals and health posts of remote areas in different parts of the country. “This will help mitigate the hassle of searching for oxygen supply and save the lives of as many people as possible,” he added.

Hospitals and health posts in remote areas have been struggling to meet the demand for medical oxygen and people have to stay in queues for their turn to get oxygen cylinders. Oxygen concentrators are of extreme importance in respiratory infectious disease management.
The oxygen concentrators will be donated to different local bodies, hospitals and health posts at Nuwakot, Syangja, Myagdi, Gorkha, Solukhumbu, Manang, Kaski, and Bardiya among other places.
