PARBAT, September 12: As many as 10 impoverished households at Bachha in Parbat district have been provided financial assistance to help build houses for them.

The District Coordination Committee handed out the first tranche of total Rs 233,000 to each family under the People's Housing Programme. Ninety more families are left to receive the grant in the district, according to Programme coordinator in Parbat, Arjun Prasad Joshi.

The Committee is to provide the amount in four installments. The first installment amount is Rs 52,000. The last installment would be released after the construction of toilet in their residence, shared Coordinator Joshi.

With no proper shelter and due to financial constraints, the impoverished Majhi families at Bachha had been living a hard life. As they have received the aid now, they have jubilantly undertaken the construction of houses for themselves.

The Committee, under the programme, is to distribute the aid to 90 more impoverished families in other localities as Khurkot in Kushma-2, Karkineta in Phalebas-1, Devisthan in Phalebas-6 and Phalamkhani in Mahashila-6 among others in the district. RSS
