10 industries get approval to import sugar from India

KATHMANDU, July 14: The Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies (MoICS) has granted approval to 10 Nepali industries to import sugar from India as a raw material.

KATHMANDU, July 14: The Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Supplies (MoICS) has granted approval to 10 Nepali industries to import sugar from India as a raw material.


According to the MoICS, applications were invited from industrialists interested in importing sugar for use as industrial raw material, in accordance with the quota allocated for sugar imports from India to Nepal.

According to the MoICS, the industries which have received approval to import sugar include Agro Thai Food Pvt ltd, Lalitpur; Goodlife Beverages Pvt Ltd, Sunsari; Asian Biscuit and Confectionery Pvt Ltd; Kwality Food Nepal Pvt Ltd; Kwality Food and Snacks Industries Pvt Ltd; Kwality Confectionery Pvt Ltd and Kwality Diet & Food Production Pvt Ltd.


Similarly, Shivam Dairy & Food Industries Pvt Ltd of Biratnagar, KRS Ventures of Jhapa and Sujal Foods Pvt Ltd of Pokhara have received approvals for importing sugar, as reported by the MoICS.  


The Department of Industry (DoI) has instructed these industries to promptly contact it.
