Youths affiliated with Youth Pressure Group have organized the strike to exert pressure on political parties to arrive at consensus on all contentious issues in the constitution drafting process by February 12, the deadline set by the parties themselves.
According to coordinator Manoj Bhattarai, the strike is organized to exert pressure on the parties to bail the country out of current political uncertainty within the set deadline.
“The leaders cannot keep the nation in uncertainty for a long time. We want the parties to arrive at consensus by the February 12 deadline,” he said.
