Stating that a divided Madhes would not be acceptable to them, Yadav said the reports submitted by the State Restructuring Commission (SRC) are not acceptable to them. “We want an autonomous Madhes province, not a divided Madhes.” [break]
Yadav made such an announcement three days after MPRF-R Chairman Jaya Prakash Prasad Gupta said that the Madhesi parties were preparing for yet another Madhes movement.
Addressing the third convention of MPRF Morang Chapter in Biratnagar, Yadav said, “SRC reports propose to divide Madhes,” stated Yadav, adding, “Madhesi people will not accept this.”
He also accused leaders of the major three parties - UCPN (Maoist), Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML of conspiring against Madhes and federalism.
“Sushil Koirala and Ram Chandra Paudel from NC, Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhalanath Khanal from UML, and Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Baburam Bhattarai from UCPN (Maoist) are anti-Madhes and against federalism,” stated Yadav.
He also accused the ruling Madhesi parties of being anti-Madhes. “Even the ruling Madhesi parties are cheating Madhesi people so that they can continue to cling on to power,” added Yadav.
He claimed Madhesi people have had to suffer the most despite the presence of Madhes-based political parties in the government.
Yadav stated that the present government should be dissolved to pave the way for formation of a national consensus government. “There is no alternative to a consensus government. So, the present government must step down,” Yadav added.
