BIRGUNJ, Aug 2: A woman, 50 years old, died of COVID-19 in Birgunj. She was undergoing treatment at Narayani Sub-regional Hospital.
She breathed her last on Friday morning and later tested positive for the virus through a throat swab sample test conducted at Narayani Hospital, according to Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Madan Kumar Upadhyay. “She was having breathing difficulties from early Friday morning.”

The deceased was from Nagawa, Birgunj Metropolitan City-16. She was also reported to be suffering from pneumonia.
Her throat swab samples were collected before her death as the medics involved in her treatment suspected that she could have contracted coronavirus.
So far, 11 people have died of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Birgunj.
