According to SSP Bijayalal Kayastha, chief of the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, investigation into the case is under way. “Though she claimed that she was not aware of the revolver in her room, we have been investigating the case,” said Kayastha.
Narcotics Control Bureau, New Baneshwar had arrested Milan Dhungana, 31, her husband, on Wednesday on the charge of arms trafficking. He is suspected to have been involved in various unlawful activities, including theft of jewelries and was sent to Metropolitan Police Circle Office, Bauddha, for further investigation.
According to Inspector Damodar Dawadi, Dhungana is in the police custody. He said Dhungana was taken to Bauddha as he was also found involved in theft of gold jewelries. Police during investigation have found that his wife abetted him in his crimes.
SSP Kayastha said that Srijana, a mother of two children, will be tried under the Arms and Ammunitions Act, 2019 if proven guilty.
