Wife killed for stealing Rs 1,000

KATHMANDU, July 29: A man has killed his wife on the petty charge of stealing 1000 rupees in Kanchan Rural Municipality-1 Delar of Rupandehi. The 31-year-old Savitri Thapa Chhetri was killed by her husband Yam Bahadur Thapa in Kanchan Rural Municipality-1 Delar on Tuesday night.

KATHMANDU, July 29: A man has killed his wife on the petty charge of stealing 1000 rupees in Kanchan Rural Municipality-1 Delar of Rupandehi. The 31-year-old Savitri Thapa Chhetri was killed by her husband Yam Bahadur Thapa in Kanchan Rural Municipality-1 Delar on Tuesday night.


Police investigation revealed that he killed his wife while he was drunk. Jagannath Marasini, Police Inspector of Area Police Office Saljhandi, informed that the preliminary investigation revealed that the husband killed his wife by banging her head on the wall of the house in a dispute over stealing Rs 1,000.

Police said that the mystery of the murder was revealed when the police detained Yam Bahadur on suspicion of being involved in the murder.


On Wednesday morning, police found Savitri in her room with a severe injury on her head, pieces of wood in her hair and blood flowing and splattered in the room and beaten black and blue on various parts of her body.
