KATHMANDU, Feb 21: The nation is currently witnessing a westerly low-pressure system that has caused partly to generally cloudy conditions in the hilly regions while keeping the weather clear in most other areas, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).
This afternoon, the hilly regions will be partly to generally cloudy, whereas the rest of the nation will witness fair conditions. Light rain can occur in one or two places in the hilly regions of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Gandaki, and Koshi provinces. Light snowfall can occur in some places in the high hills and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and one or two places in other provinces' higher places.
Weather today to remain generally clear

Tonight, partly to generally cloudy weather will prevail over Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki hilly areas, and other hilly areas will have partial cloudiness. The weather will be fair in other parts. Light snowfall is likely at one or two places in the high hills and mountainous belts of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
Within the next 24 hours, one or two places in the high hills of Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Gandaki, and Koshi provinces might receive light rain. Light snowfall in a few places of high hills and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces and one or two places in other provinces' high-altitude regions is also likely. The DGM has alerted the public to be on the lookout, as the weather might moderately impact daily life, health, road transportation, and air operations.
