Forex Update: Value of US Dollar depreciates

Nepal Rastra Bank has revised the foreign exchange rates for Saturday, showing a slight depreciation in the value of the US dollar. The central bank set the buying rate of one US dollar at Rs 136.01 and the selling rate at Rs 136.61, down from Rs 136.43 and Rs 137.03, respectively.

KATHMANDU, April 26: Nepal Rastra Bank has revised the foreign exchange rates for Saturday, showing a slight depreciation in the value of the US dollar. The central bank set the buying rate of one US dollar at Rs 136.01 and the selling rate at Rs 136.61, down from Rs 136.43 and Rs 137.03, respectively.


The buying rate for one euro is Rs 155.05, and the selling rate is Rs 155.73. One UK pound sterling buys at Rs 181.64 and sells at Rs 182.44. The Swiss franc has a buying rate of Rs 164.67 and a selling rate of Rs 165.40.


One Australian dollar buys at Rs 87.07 and sells at Rs 87.45. The Canadian dollar's buying rate is Rs 98.28, and the selling rate is Rs 98.71. The Singapore dollar buys at Rs 103.81 and sells at Rs 104.26, as per Nepal Rastra Bank.

Similarly, the central bank has set the buying rate for 10 Japanese yen at Rs 9.52 and the selling rate at Rs 9.56. One Chinese yuan buys at Rs 18.72 and sells at Rs 18.80. The Saudi Arabian riyal has a buying rate of Rs 36.37 and a selling rate of Rs 36.53, while the Qatari riyal buys at Rs 37.43 and sells at Rs 37.59.


According to the central bank, the buying rate for one Thai baht is Rs 4.07 and the selling rate is Rs 4.09. One UAE dirham buys at Rs 37.14 and sells at Rs 37.31. The Malaysian ringgit's buying rate is Rs 31.19, and the selling rate is Rs 31.33.


Likewise, the buying rate for 100 South Korean won is Rs 9.48, and the selling rate is Rs 9.52. One Swedish krona buys at Rs 14.08 and sells at Rs 14.14, while one Danish krone buys at Rs 20.77 and sells at Rs 20.86.


Nepal Rastra Bank has also fixed the buying rate for one Hong Kong dollar at Rs 17.59 and the selling rate at Rs 17.67. The Kuwaiti dinar buys at Rs 444.93 and sells at Rs 446.89. The Bahraini dinar buys at Rs 361.95 and sells at Rs 363.54. The Omani riyal has a buying rate of Rs 354.34 and a selling rate of Rs 355.90.


Similarly, the buying rate for INR 100 is Rs 160.00, and the selling rate is Rs 160.15.


The central bank stated that it may revise these exchange rates at any time as needed. It also noted that the exchange rates set by commercial banks may vary based on the open market, and updated rates are available on the central bank's website.
