Upper House committee completes clause-wise deliberations on Tilganga Eye University Bill, 2081

Chairperson of the Legislative Management Committee, Tulsa Kumari Dahal, presented the bill in the Upper House meeting on Sunday. The bill, which originated in the National Assembly, was sent to the committee for clause-wise deliberations. Following the deliberations, 29 lawmakers have proposed 71 amendments to the bill.

KATHMANDU, Feb 2: A parliamentary committee has presented a report related to the Tilganga Eye University Bill, 2081 in the National Assembly (NA) meeting after clause-wise deliberations.


Chairperson of the Legislative Management Committee, Tulsa Kumari Dahal, presented the bill in the Upper House meeting on Sunday. The bill, which originated in the National Assembly, was sent to the committee for clause-wise deliberations. Following the deliberations, 29 lawmakers have proposed 71 amendments to the bill.

Chairperson Dahal said that the report includes experts’ suggestions along with amendments to the bill proposed by the lawmakers. According to Dahal, the bill aims to increase access to eye health services, develop new technologies in the field of eye care, provide quality services, and operate a public university.


The committee had passed the bill on January 28. The next meeting of the National Assembly will be held on February 6 at 1:15 PM.
